Our Apartment

JOHN - Everyone's been asking us about our apartment. Well, here are some pics of the place. Just so you know and because I want to make everyone jealous but we have five pools here at our complex. We also have access to a work-out facility that isn't too bad. Plus, inside the apartment we have a stackable washer-dryer, dishwasher, central air, 2 full bathrooms, lots of closet space, a little deck and lots of parking. The cost for the apartment was around $800-something each month (split that in 2 and it's a little over $400 each). We have to pay all utilities (no gas) and ended up getting cable w/ internet.

If anyone is considering moving here, we would recommend renting furniture instead of bringing a Uhaul. First, it's a lot less expensive. Two, you're only here for four months so save yourself the hassle. Trust me, just bring a carload of stuff and that's all you need. The furniture company that we rented from had everything set up when we got here and it turned out to be pretty decent. No complaints in that area.
The apartment has been pretty good. We have had a few hiccups with some maintenance issues but they are always quick to respond and fix the problems we have. The only thing that we can't stand are our loud neighbors upstairs. They are a family with a small child who seem to forget that there are people living below them. I have had to even go knock on their door because they were way too loud banging around one late Sunday night. Of course, they didn't answer the door. Jerks.

The location of the apartment complex is fantastic!! We are about a 10 minute drive to downtown San Antonio. We are 2 minutes from I-10 which is one of the major highways here. Alongside I-10 are access roads that have everything we need. Grocery stores, Walmart, Target, restaurants, etc. My drive to school is about 8-10 minutes since I take I-10 most of the way. Jayma's drive to her school is a little shorter. We seem to be avoiding the heavy traffic both ways. We are also 8 minutes from the airport and are close to 410 and 1604. All in all, not too bad. I don't know if I would want to live here for a long period of time but for one semester, it's not too bad.
